This review is from: Linksys EA2750 N600 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Wireless Router
Pros: This router is very easy to setup with no issues using Windows 7. Some of the pros are:
Dual band technology - Great for congested areas. Guest network can be set up on both 2.4 and 5GHz also.
4 Gigabit ports
USB 2.0 port
Linksys smart wi-fi - have access to your network settings remotely using an app or browser.
Having this router for almost a month I have had no issues connecting several devices using the wi-fi, USB, or Gigabit ports.
Cons: Wireless N technology and not faster AC technology (802.11n vs 802.11ac).
USB port is 2.0 and not USB 3.0
Not very future proof
Other Thoughts: For most people this router will work fine and serve as a great router for many years to come. Depending on what your ISP offers, you may not need newer technology but for the price of this one at launch, there are definitely better options out there.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: LINKSYS RE6400 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Range Extender
Pros: This does exactly what you'd expect it to do and that is extend the range of your wireless router. The setup was extremely simple using the WPS button and up and running in less than 5 minutes. It looks elegant and does not cover both electrical outlets. The range is great, about the same amount as my router.
Cons: Without settings on the devices, this was not automatically connecting to the extender when I would go closer to the extender and further from my router. I would have to switch to the extender automatically. This is really not a con as far as the extender goes but just be aware if your devices are not automatically connecting to the extender even though you may be in the same room with it.
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great extender and so far the reliability has been the quality I would expect with a Linksys product. With the WPS setup, this makes it simple for someone with little to no tech knowledge. The range is great for such a small device and the elegance of the unit makes it suitable for any room.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This would be great for travel or for small children due to its size and affordability. I have used it for a month and didn't expect a lot from it at first but it has done a decent job at some of the day to day tasks I mainly use it for which is browsing, reading e-books and videos.
The touch screen is very responsive and typing is a joy on this tablet. Everything is very snappy and feels great while using it in portrait or landscape mode.
It does have a front and rear facing camera which is a plus but they are not the type of quality that you would expect on a tablet in 2015. This is a great savings and drives the cost down while still having them both available.
The stand-by battery life has been great. This tablet must be running a modified (Vanilla) version of KitKat because it seems to turn everything off due to small amount of battery drain.
It comes with both a data cable and charging cable, both which do charge the device. The screen also comes with a cheap plastic protector that I recommend leaving on until you get a better screen protector due to the reviews that state the screen scratches easily. The speaker is on the back and I have left this at the highest volume but definitely recommend headphones.
The wifi signal picks up an extra bar than does my Galaxy Note 3 from the same distance which I was pleasantly surprised to see. I was able to use it a short distance further which was nice.
Cons: This tablet is more like a toy than a tablet considering what's available. The viewing angle is pretty much for head on use and the screen brightness at max setting is still pretty dim so outside viewing will be non-existent.
The camera (both front and rear) are very pixilated, washed out and just out of date for this day and age. It's ok for a child and maybe to take a picture to remember something but other than this, the camera is not completely useless but not that great.
Battery life is average at best when using the device. It does a great job in stand-by mode but while pushing the device it drains pretty quick.
Other Thoughts: My review is based on price vs functionality.
For a child, this would be an inexpensive tablet that will help them learn and be able to keep them occupied and although the specs look great, this tablet has some very cheap parts to drive the cost down. I would have happily given this to my daughter when she was a child as her first tablet.
I took it with me for travel and it was great to be able to watch videos and browse the internet. It was bigger than my Note 3 screen and easier to take along than a 10 inch tablet so I find great use of this tablet especially considering the price.
Bottom line is this is a budget tablet and functions as one so keep that in mind.
