Great product!
Pros: Great price, big drive, good transfer speeds, and so far very reliable
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I bought this to house my 2.5 TB iTunes library as well as a few other backup items (photos, eBooks, etc.). It's been very reliable and I have not noticed any blatant sluggishness. I typically add one or two movies or albums at a time, and it only takes a few seconds.
pretty much just like the rest
Pros: Cheap, Large, Drive
Cons: You apparently get what you pay for... died after a 2 weeks of use. It gets WAY too hot, which I think is most of the problem. No clicks, but just shows up now as 0 bytes... of course just after I moved my 400+ GB iTunes library to it.
Overall Review: Seagate already blew their "24 response time" for my support request; looking at 3rd parties now... then I'm going to send this back to Newegg!
Comfortable with great bass
Pros: Deep rich bass makes certain songs & genres really thump (rap, hip-hop, dancehall, etc.). I also listen to a lot of metal, and bands with down-tuned instruments (i.e. Korn) sound especially heavy.
Cons: I had to purchase replacement earbuds twice, as the plastic cuts into it after time. But $6 didn't break the bank. Also, the metal screens on the inside gets very dirty and must be cleaned very carefully. I found that a pin or thumb tack can scrape off any debris while being gentle enough not to knock the screen out of its fitting.
Overall Review: After two years of heavy use (every day at work + quite a few work outs) they finally broke. The chord near the .35mm connector cracked and unless it's "just right" the left ear cuts out (wire broken I assume). I was upset that my $100 (I got mine from QVC) headphones broke after 2 years, but when I consider how much I used them, it's worth the $0.15/day I enjoyed them.
Sturdy and reliable
Pros: Extremely durable and reliable! I had other brands physically break or had the internal memory go bad. This thing is the Energizer bunny and will not quit. With over a year of regular 5-days-a-week use it's still going well.
Cons: It's a bit heavier than other drives... but it's metal! If you couldn't figure that out, then you should not be allowed to buy it. I didn't like the U3 software, but a download from the site nuked it and I'm able to use it clean.
Overall Review: I don't use a lanyard, so that aspect didn't catch me. Being nearly indestructible was what caught my eye. Aside from getting some light surface scratches from keys in my pocket, it's in the same condition it was over a year ago... with plenty of drops on record. I'm waiting for an 8GB version!
Great drive so far
Pros: Fast, large, quiet drive at a good price. Installed it and didn't notice any increase in noise, and the temp in my case increased but a few degrees.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Didn't ship with any installation hardware, including a IDE to SATA power converter. It was my own stupid fault so I didn't put it as a Con... but I was upset that I had to wait another 3 days for that stuff to show up!
You get what you pay for
Pros: Great price for the size (when I bought it); fast and easy to use.
Cons: Flimsy plastic shell, died on me after a few months. It was an business purchase so I just picked up another without trying to cash in on the warranty.
Overall Review: Bottom line, you get what you pay for... it was cheap, but didn't last too long. I later picked up a slightly more expensive brand and even after running over it with my pick-up it still worked! I suggest that if you want something more than a quick fix, get something else.
