Pros: -Cheap!!(When I bought it)
-Stable and no RAM related problems
-Runs at 1600Mhz at 1.5V
Cons: -Tall heat spreaders(block the fan on my Hyper 212 EVO)
- Heat spreaders feel super cheap, almost like plastic
-Had to go into BIOS and turn on XMP for 1600MHz speed.
Other Thoughts: Got 8GB of this for free with my motherboard, so I decided to get another set for a total of 16GB so I could make a small RAM disc. Has been working flawlessly for me, only thing that kinda bothered me was that I had to go into the BIOS and turn on XMP to make it run at 1600Mhz, but it only takes 30 seconds to do that so I'm not going to take an egg off the rating.
Running at 1333 vs 1600 does make a little difference in speeds for a RAM disc.
4GB Sequential transfer:
There is a difference, but in the real world you will not feel the difference.
This review is from: MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Awesome color scheme.
USB 3 support
Was able to overclock my i7 2700K to 4.7Ghz
OC Genie feature is great for beginners
USB 2 power port
Cons: Heatsinks might interfere with CPU cooler
Only 1 front USB 2 header
Bad fan header positioning
USB port is pretty loose.
Bios update failed
HORRIBLE customer serive
Other Thoughts: I bought this board for my first build in September. Worked great, but when I got a new keyboard(Corsair K90) it would not let me go into the Bios. I read online the updating the BIOS may help. So I proceeded to update the bios using the way stated on the MSI website. Unfortunately the update failed and the mother board stopped working.
So I ended up sending the mobo to MSI for RMA. According to them they got the mobo on Feb. 20 2013.
It is now Mar. 17 and I still do not have the mobo back.
This is over their max turnaround time of 15 days. When I called up their support team the only thing the guy could tell me was to wait a couple more days, but they still have not shipped the board.
I am going to stay away from MSI for my future purchases, hope fully my MSI 660Ti does not die on me.
Pretty cool design
Large side window
Cons: Cheaply built
Horrible hard drive mounting system
Colored cables look hideous
Sd card reader slot does not work?
Other Thoughts: Bought this when they were offering a $50 rebate on the case, making it pretty much free. OK basic case, mostly plastic, metal parts are very thin and cheap. Fans are pretty nice and quiet.
I moved my components from my Phantom 410 into this for a week just to try out the case. Temps went up on all components 5C due to the bad airflow.
I would rather get the Antec 300 for the price this sells at.
