4 out of 5 eggs First time with Mushkin, bent module? 05/17/2013

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory For Apple Model 976643A

Pros: Works, none of the sticks are dead, that's about all I need from them...

Cons: Bought this set to upgrade my fiance's '08 Mac Book Pro. Opened the packaging to discover that one of the modules came "bent". Despite the slight curve, the chip still works... but I'm keeping an eye on her Mac to make sure the stick doesn't die off... this was a first for me and constitutes as a con in my opinion, hence the dropped rating.

G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBSQ
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: I've been using G-Skill for the past 7 years on all of my rigs, and they have yet to let me down, never a dead stick. Runs cool (not that it matters for my X220) and no boot issues. I would recommend these modules.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Glad that they got rid of the useless memory heat sinks, the last stick of DDR2 that I bought for my EEEPC definitely didn't need it... and probably would have been a smidgen cheaper with out as well.

5 out of 5 eggs Makes my fans quieter? 12/27/2009

This review is from: Nexus SA-120 120mm Silicon Absorber

Pros: Great inexpensive sound correction for fans that sometimes get noisy.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Helps keep the noise down on my aluminum Lian Li case, but I'm running low-noise Cooler Masters on the front and rear... if only the Zalman on the CPU could get a bit quieter, then maybe my box would be a bit stealthier.
