Pros: Inexpensive and does exactly what it says. Securely mounts a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" drive bay. Drive snaps into enclosure and enclosure mounts as a 3.5" drive would. SATAIII not a problem. Have only ever used it to mount OCZ SSD drives and fitment is perfect.
Other Thoughts: I've purchased several of these for different PCs and never had an issue at all. Never had to use the screws it comes with either as the 2.5" drive snaps into place in the tray. I recommend this to anyone.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Novell SUSE LINUX 10.1 STRONG ENCRYPTION 128 BIT ENG
Pros: Performance, ease of use, ease of installation, well thought out GUI, compatible with all M$ Office file formats, save to PDF, burn DVDs, includes your favorite browser (Firefox), automatically configured and used everything from the graphics card to the wireless network built-in (IBM Thinkpad R51 2883-ARU) and runs very fast and stable. Linux newbies should have no trouble. Boot the CD/DVD and you're off..
Cons: Wish there was better OpenGL/DirectX game support. This is not really a fault of the OS but more of game developers (or the relatively small but growing user base).
Other Thoughts: I'm glad someone is really putting 2 and 2 together with alternative OSes and this is my personal favorite so far. I would switch for good and never look back if I could use it as a gaming system but for now I have to have XP for gaming.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: VANTEC NexStar NST-250U2 Aluminum Alloy 2.5" IDE / SATA USB 2.0 External Enclosure
Pros: This unit is very slim. It's large enough to fit a 2.5" drive but no more than it has to be. No extra AC adapter is needed making it very convenient. It's a sturdy aluminum construction which is good in case it's misplaced and gets dropped or stepped on. Even comes with cable and carrying case. I've used it with multiple drives and have not had a single problem.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: This is a nit-pick only. It would be a bonus if the included case would have provisions for storing the included USB cable.
I plan to purchase another one of these.
