This review is from: WD My Passport Essential 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive WDME3200TN Black
Pros: I've owned this drive for 5 years, and gave it a lot of abuse. I've thrown it into backpacks, traveled with it, thrown it on the table, dropped it multiple times from desk height. The drive never skipped a beat. The last time I dropped it the plastic casing unsnapped , producing a gap in the body. I taped it up tight, and the drive kept on working. I couldn't be more impressed.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: This experience further cements WD's good name in my book.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Logitech G230 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Stereo Gaming Headset
Pros: Comfortable, decent sound for the price. Physical build quality is very solid. Some reviewers mentioned problems with the mic, which I didn't experience. I did experience a slightly different problem, in the cons section.
Cons: The volume control wheel started malfunctioning after less than a year of ownership. When adjusting volume the left and right cups cut out periodically. I have to "tune the frequency" so to speak, to get both ears to work. The mic on/off switch also doesn't seem to completely cut off the sound(This was happening right from day one). People on the other end reported being able to hear me after I switched off the mic. This is very annoying as the only way to ensure the mic is completely off is to unplug the mic jack from the computer.
Other Thoughts: I think this is a pretty good headset that's ruined by that little control pad. Fortunately Logitech's warranty support is great. They don't wait for you to send your broken headphones back first, before shipping a replacement. This saves a great amount of wait time.
This is indicative of the general love/hate relationship I have developed with Logitech. I've had a few of their products break on me within 1-3 years of moderate use, but the replacement service is so good that breakage almost doesn't matter. Perhaps a better approach would be to buy something I know will not break i the first place.
Pros: Has worked for 6 years of occasional use in my PC build.
Cons: Loud. The only reason I wrote this review after so much time is I put a CD into the drive for the first time in a year, and noticed how ridiculously loud it was. Then I remembered it was that loud from day one.READ FULL REVIEW
