This review is from: Toshiba TransMemory 8GB Flash Drive Model PFU008U-1ACW
Pros: I find this flash drive technically acceptable for my purposes, though it was quite obsolete when I got it, so would normally give it 3 stars. I rate above that only when something about the purchase goes beyond my expectation of getting what I paid for. See below regarding a positive support response that rated the extra star.
Other Thoughts: Toshiba rates an extra star/egg for actually responding to an issue on their website instead of brushing it aside. A few months ago, I hunted for over an hour for the security software that was supposed to be available for this drive and then finally emailed support. They initially directed me back to the page I expected the software to be on. When I replied that the drive model was not listed, they sent me the app and then about 3 days later the drive was added to the list and the software was easily found. This impressed me. I think it's rare for a first-contact support person to follow-up on an issue after responding to the customer and probably rarer for anyone above them to lend an ear and escalate the issue so that it is actually addressed. Rarer still to see this kind of attention to detail in a "big" company - and in support of an obsolete product, too. This is what customer support and response should be like - but hardly ever is. So, especially to that front-line Toshiba support rep, whoever he was, GOOD JOB!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I've just tried a DVD movie in this Samsung drive for the first time. It's an episodic disk and has a visible flaw near it's outter rim. I found that the Samsung could not get past this but my LG (also pruchased from NewEgg) didn't miss a beat. I haven't tried burning anything with this drive, so can't speak to that - but it's clearly not as good at getting over the rough spots (which are almost always present in disks borrowed from the library) as the LG.
Cons: Seems undependable for playing borrowed (library owned) DVDs.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Team C123 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model TC123332GW01
Pros: It has a cap and it hasn't failed yet.
Cons: It is dead slow. I have never seen it write at more than 8Mb/sec.
Other Thoughts: Defeats the purpose of upgrading to a usb3 enabled rig - not even as fast as my old usb 2 stick.READ FULL REVIEW
