This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
Pros: Easy to install
Keeps my i5-3570k @ 4.2GHz, 1.24 Vcore, at 65c while running Prime95 (100% cpu utilization)
Other Thoughts: The pictoral instructions are perfect! Pro tip: Make sure you know exactly what each step is telling you. If you try to glance at the instructions and give it a go it could be a frustrating install.
I followed them to the T. And was curious as to why they had me apply the thermal paste first and 2nd was setting up x bar on the cooler, then set it aside. I thought these should be done last right? Not so much.
So what I learned is I used too much thermal paste (and I knew I did, you really just want to use a dime size amount in the center, the cooler will spread this evenly across the die) which ran off the die as I was fitting the baseplate. As I was wiping up the mess I thought, these guys are ingenious!, they just prevented me from using too much thermal paste. :)
Looking at the x-bar installation (step 2) takes attention to detail, focus, and I think if they put this step at the end, we, the user, would be to excited to mount this behemouth to give it the proper attention to detail and install it incorrectly.
Other thoughts: They really should have a frying pan attachment so we can finally say 'it makes pancakes!'. lol
This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply
Pros: Queit, Reliable, Understated. I've been running this PSU since 2013 without issue.
Cons: Doesnt make pancakes
Other Thoughts: I5-3570k
Corsair Hydro H60 CPU water cooler
x2 840 SSD
x1 7200 RPM HDD
x2 8GB RAM
x3 120mm case fans
x1 140mm case fan
Corsair M65 mouse
MS natural keyboard
Asus Xonar DG sound card
I just used Neweggs PSU calculator and 633 watts is recommended not including all the extras listed above. I plan on adding a SATA PCIe card, just added more RAM and will add a fan controller which I've read needs 15W per channel. I'll be buying Corsair!
Newegg carries only the best of the best making PC building and upgrading easy and painless. Thanks guys!
Pros: Easy to use, configure & setup.
Speeds are good on 2.5Ghz
I like how I can divide the download speed so I can stream a movie and download a large file without one interrupting the other.
Other Thoughts: My WDLive TV media player doesnt support 5Ghz.
My Cisco DocSis2.0 cable modem drops my internet connection about once every 2-4 weeks. I can see how someone can think its their router dropping the connection but the majority of the time its your cable modem or your ISP.
I did not have to create a linksys account as one reviewer had said. You simply login to the router like any other 192.168.1.1
I think this router offers a lot for the money. I'm not using all of it's features and could have purchased a router with less features and have been equally as happy. But I purchased this with longevity in mind, I hope not to replace it again for another 5-8yrs. I call it future proofing. :)
