This review is from: Seagate 500GB SATA DVR Expander STAP500403
Pros: There's a 500GB SATA drive inside the enclosure
Cons: The drive is totally useless when inside of the enclosure as far as I can tell.
Other Thoughts: I don't know what DVR you are supposed to connect this to but when the drive is in its case standard SATA cables don't work neither do SATA to USB cables. Once you remove the stupid case you can use whatever you desire. Maybe they just want you to void the warranty and this is how that service is provided.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: JetWay JATOM-GM1-330-LF Intel Atom 330 Intel 945GC Flex ATX Motherboard/CPU Combo
Pros: Very low power draw
Two PCI slots and a PCI-E slot
Dual channel RAM
Cons: Was somewhat unstable for a little while
Other Thoughts: I run this board in my server which includes 2x 1GB RAM, 2x 4-port PCI RAID cards, 1 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet card, and 9 hard drives running on a 620W 80+ certified power supply. The normal power draw according to Kill-a-Watt is 64W which is just barely more than a regular light bulb.
I run Windows 2003 Server as the main OS and I run an Ubuntu VM as well. I've never had any issue with processing power.
Pros: 3 out of the 4 drives that I had ordered worked on arrival.
The price I paid is rather nice after the rebate.
Cons: 1 out of the 4 drives that I had ordered was dead on arrival.
Incurring additional time and cost of having to ship the dead drive back to Newegg and waiting for a replacement.
Other Thoughts: A Seattle based e-tailer has free shipping on RMAs for products that are dead on arrival and the replacements are overnighted to you.READ FULL REVIEW
