This review is from: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor BX80562Q6600
Pros: I got this CPU in 2007- it's been running pretty much non-stop ever since.
Still runs everything beautifully seven years later.
Other Thoughts: This CPU has never overheated (though I haven't tried overclocking it), it's run with multiple hardware configurations without any problems. It's been on the same motherboard for seven years and not once have I seen even a small lapse in performance.
Love this CPU.
Pros: Runs any game I've thrown at it beautifully. Even at 1920x1080, manages to run Skyrim on high settings.
More than adequate for most things people like me need.
What more could you ask for in a somewhat older GPU?
Typically you get what you paid for, but I feel like this is worth more than what I paid for it.
Dual-Link DVI, so you can hook up two monitors without the need for a splitter- AWWW YEEE!
Cons: Not a newer card, obviously. Lags a bit on REALLY BIG games that require a lot of memory, but that can easily be remedied by just turning down the settings/ resolution.
It is double wide also, so you might want to make sure you have enough room before you get it.
Other Thoughts: I ran Mech Warrior on the highest settings OLOL!
But really though, I was using an Intel G41 that was integrated into my Motherboard. I couldn't even really play AoE II without a lowered FPS.
This card is temporary until I build my new rig, but I'm not complaining.
