4 out of 5 eggs Gave me chills 04/12/2014

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance 2100 Circumaural Wireless Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset

Pros: - Excellent battery life
(the headphones actually conserve power by switching off the speakers when not plugged in)

-crystal clear audio imput
(not a single glitch while I was gaming- work an online job and the customers were able to hear me clearly)

-Doesn't slay your bank account
(for 100 dollars the price to quality level is superb)

-Surround sound 7.1
(this is where the title came from- when I flipped this headset on for the first time with spotify playing - the range and depth was incredible, made me want to crank up the music)

Booming bass- the 50mm drivers in the headset really push the kick the bass , emulating explosions properly within the headset and giving the right burst of the bass at the right time on each track

-Could almost use them outside
Have my computer in my office- was able to walk into the living room about 25ft away and still pick up the same quality sound as if I were right next to the system, plenty of metal shelves around to disrupt the sound and it works the same with all the doors open or closed

-Great at cutting out distractions
Cancels out nearly all the sound coming in- had a TV playing in the background at full volume and could only hear a small blur of interfering audio while I was gaming

Cons: -Sensitive microphone
(microphone was so sensitive it picked up my breathing - had to actually turn the gain down)

-Fuzzy sound
There was occassionally static that came from the speakers running with no sound playing, wouldn't notice it otherwise

-Doesn't attain the audio depth that a dedicated Bose headphone would, treble suffers for sure-

-Headset wears on you after awhile
the cups themselves are satisfyingly soft and the padding at the top keeps the headset snug on the head but heat starts to build up and I found myself taking them off every four hours to cool down/massage my ears - headset also felt heavy at first but I was accustomed to the yapster which weighs nearly nothing

Other Thoughts: Carries voice really well but would not reccomend surround sound setting for voice chat- tends to stretch the audio

Corsair software is not included on with the headset but is neccessary if you want to run the surround sound- these needed to be downloaded from the Corsair website itself- though the software once downloaded comes with several range settings that have preset levels like Audiophile +1 which boosts the depth of the audio considerably-

Be sure if you purchase this headset to lower the microphone levels- picks up the smallest sound (left mine on 25 and friends were reporting lil sound interference)

Overall I'd give them an A for design- lighting and style was beautiful- headset is well engineered but could use a little tweaking on the drivers to help cut down the static
