Yes shader's are unlockable,, Yep it's a reference card. Runs any and all games beautifully. Great card for the price. Single card performance totally rocks.
Cons: Being a reference card a bought this card as a 2nd card for a Xfire set-up, and here in is the problem i had. I originally bought a *** HD6950 reference card and wanted to Xfire it,, so i bought this card to go with it,,well the problem is the *** has it's stock voltage at 1.100 and the HIS has it's stock voltage set at 1.060 volts. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why the HIS was running 7C to 10C hotter in games and benching in Xfire. Issues started to appear I.E. artifacts and crashing to desktop. No amount of "tweaking" would correct the issues I was experiencing.
Other Thoughts: I contacted tech support and had a lengthy talk with a tech and was not offered any explanation as to why voltages were different from other reference cards.
In a single card set-up this card worked just fine with no issues at all. I totally recommend this card by itself,,but in a Xfire set-up make sure you know what your doing.
Pros: I've had this card for almost a year and I can truly say it's a great card. Ran any game I had with ease and didn't have any glitches. I was coming from a GeForce 7950 GX2 so this card just blew me away with it's image quality and frame rates.

Other Thoughts: About 10 months into ownership I had a melt down sorta speak ,, The card went down with a SQUEAL,, POP,,POP and then nothing,,was totally bummed out to say the least. I contacted Vision Tek tech support and got a timely reply(2 days). Was issued an RMA number, and I sent it back to them. I sent the card back on the 28th and received a new card back in my hands on the 1st,, just 5 days including shipping time to get a new card back to me. Totally rocking service if you ask me. Vision Tek made this as painless as possible, while some times things happen and parts can and do fail, Vision Tek customer service was on top of this all the way.READ FULL REVIEW
