USB 3.0 20-Pin 2-Port 3.5

5 out of 5 eggs High Quality 11/30/2014

This review is from: USB 3.0 20-Pin 2-Port 3.5" Floppy Bay Bracket Cable Front Panel

Pros: All metal.
Reasonable price.

Cons: Screws too short for mounting in the bay adapter I had.

Other Thoughts: The goal was to provide USB 3.0 ports on the front panel. This was mounted inside a 5.25" to 3.5" bay adapter which had to be modified to fit inside a bay that was designed for an optical drive.

The cable was attached to this card:
USB 3.0 5GB/s 2 Port HUB 20 Pin Port PCi-E Addon Card VLI Chip for Windows XP Vista 7 8
Model#: 6004013
Item#: 17Z-0007-00033

USB 3.0 5GB/s 2 Port HUB 20 Pin Port PCi-E Addon Card VLI Chip for Windows XP Vista 7 8

  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Only card I am aware of that has the 20-pin USB 3.0 adapter on the card.
Windows 7-64 bit drivers provided on included mini-CD.
Windows 10 (Technical Preview) did not need the drivers.

Cons: Molex-type power connector.
Your psu might need a SATA to Molex adapter.

Other Thoughts: The goal was to provide USB 3.0 ports on the front panel using this:

5 out of 5 eggs The Best Rechargeables 07/27/2014

This review is from: Panasonic BK-4MCCA4BA 4-pack AAA eneloop Rechargeable Batteries

Pros: No better rechargeable NiMH than Eneloop's.
They come precharged.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used to be Sanyo which was acquired by Panasonic.
They keep improving them, so they have a longer shelf life without losing charge.
