This review is from: ORICO 6 Outlet Power Strip with Surge Protector, Built-in 5 Ft. Cord, 4 USB Intelligence Charging Ports (2*5V2.4A + 2*5V1A) for iPhone, iPad, Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge, Nexus and More - White (TPC-6A4U-WH)
Pros: Very nice design, makes the desk more organized; saves a lot of space from other adapters; blue LED indicator is useful to show if it is connected or not.
Cons: 1) not UL and only takes 1250W
2) bad packaging from the manufacture, the stress relief point often damaged.
Other Thoughts: Is it a very stylish design and nice concept for home office (and only for that purpose, see below). It keeps the desk space clean. I have been using a lot of their product and I know they have a very good taste interns of style. this item is no exception either.
However, I purchased two, and one arrived with the insulation broken at the stress relief. The two wires inside are exposed (though they have their own insulation layers so the copper wires are protected). The other one, has a mark at the same place that is about to break. I eventually figured out that was from their poor method of packaging. They bent the stress relief so much to fit the box. The stress relieves were bent so much that the material on the insulation start to tear.
Another thing I want to point out is it is more like an adapter with power outlets on it, rather then a power strip with adapter built in. The labelled power allowance is 1250W only, regular power strips in US are at lease 1800W if not more. I have seen this similar item sold in countries using 220V in their outlets. So here 110V means more current to be carried on the wire. Don;t think they did anything special on this front. So on the desk, with a few laptops or monitors this thing should be ok, but it is not a good idea to use it in the living room as a real power strip to power up power hunger devices such as A/C and etc. And it does not have the UL label.
This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender. Wi-Fi Booster
Pros: Works great.
Cons: more detailed instructions
Other Thoughts: I realized it works better to use the same SSID. most devices will auto switch to the stronger AP.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: High Quality build quality. The tool-less concept is great.
Cons: There are form protection on the upper and bottom inside the case, but not on the side. Somehow my HDD is just tinny narrower than the case, so the HDD moves side by side. I had to cut a piece of rubber to secure it from moving.
Other Thoughts: the activity led light is on the back, should be on the front to make more cense; also, there is no rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't stay on the desk.READ FULL REVIEW
