This review is from: Toshiba 23" 1080p 60Hz LED-LCD HDTV - 23L1350U
Pros: Very vibrant picture, lots of rear panel connections & great price!
Cons: No negative comments to mention. I would have preferred a DVI connector, instead of a VGA connector, on the rear panel. However, was able to make due with the existing VGA connector.
Other Thoughts: I wanted to replace my old HDTV, with another Samsung. After searching a bit, I found this Toshiba HDTV & it had equivalent connections, as did my old HDTV. I come to find out that Samsung & Toshiba are parent companies.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Rosewill RX81U-ES-25B 2.5" IDE to USB 2.0 External Enclosure
Pros: Great enclosure for the quality & value. (Note: I have been purchasing Rosewill products for many years, for my small Tech Business & personal use. I support Rosewill's products, for their quality, price & their excellent Customer Service).
Cons: I've purchased a few of these, in the past & have only encountered one issue, with the enclosure not being recognized, or mounted, by my MacBook (Snow Leopard).
(Ran USB Prober & found the device could not be enumerated. Tested with my 2nd Rosewill enclosure & had NO problem with mounting the external drive enclosure).
Anyhow, the issue was, quickly, resolved by emailing Rosewill's, excellent Support Team & I was sent a replacement unit. (THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP, SHIRLEY)
This review is from: StarTech MDVIDVIMF Mini DVI to DVI Video Cable Adapter for Macbooks and iMacs
Pros: Very useful for presentations and multimedia entertainment, as well as, cost-effective, in regards to buying another monitor.
Cons: The cable could be longer; one foot, would be nice. Hopefully the display, sleep mode "glitch" will be worked out, in the next production. I'm not sure if the Apple branded cable does the same thing, because I don't have one to compare it to, unfortunately. Maybe another Mac user will make note of this, in the review section.
Other Thoughts: I am posting this review to help out the cat who wrote the previous review, and, hopefully, help others who are experiencing the same problem. I, too, have a MacBook and noticed the "glitch" that the cable has when going into sleep mode and turning off the display. But, you DO NOT have to unplug the cable, or restart your MacBook to alleviate the problem. If you simply, press the space bar, as I did, the screen display will reappear, or likewise, you can also adjust the sleep mode timeout, to a higher interval setting. While this may not be feasible for battery preservation, it is convenient, for when your MacBook is connected to a power source. I enjoy using this cable for My Poetry seminars and using Front Row, which turns my MacBook into a giant iPod, not to mention the cost-effectiveness of having to buy another monitor, from Apple. Nevertheless, I am giving it a 4 Egg rating, because of the "glitch", which is annoying, at first, but can be rectified, as stated, above.READ FULL REVIEW
