GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Solid board that works well under Windows 7. The board is being used with i7-3770 processor, 3.4 GHz.

Cons: Intel NIC can't negotiate gigabit connection. Search the web, and you will find that many others have had this problem. I just gave up and bought another NIC from Newegg -- an Intel NIC. LOL

IOGEAR GUB211 USB 2.0 Printer Auto Sharing Switch

2 out of 5 eggs Futzing time 04/28/2012

This review is from: IOGEAR GUB211 USB 2.0 Printer Auto Sharing Switch

Pros: Two USB cables included. The switch is small and attractively designed with good display of which printer is active in the switch.

Cons: I wanted to connect one monochrome laser printer (Brother HL-2070) to two Windows 7 machines. I installed the software on the machines. It was a little confusing getting the printer selection functioning properly from the System Tray application. Then, the system worked. Then, the lights on the switch changed as expected, but the system did not work anymore. No printing. I have no idea why. Time to start futzing, or just disconnect and uninstall the system and go back to manually moving cables. The moving cable method works without the futz.
