This review is from: MSI NF980-G65 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: SLI and X-fire is cool.
Plenty of RAM space with 16GB max
Cons: First off is the FSB. I can only get it down to 240MHz, which means it OC's my 1100T to 4.0GHz and won't post on STOCK FAIL-SAFE DEFAULTS. Basically, the fail-safe fails. Good job.
I have some G-Skills 1600MHz dual-channel memory and when I look in CPU-Z, it reads 800MHz. Really MSI? Only half of what I paid for? Apparently I have to manually mess with that to get it to work right too. *sigh...
Other Thoughts: I've emailed MSI about the FSB twice with no response. MSI is not leaving a good impression on me so far.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-USB3P LGA 775 Intel P45 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: looks cool
Cons: Ever since this was new, it would glitch the video and audio. Their EZ over-clocking utility thing is absolute junk and couldn't even OC .1GHz without crashing. Finally, after swapping EVERYTHING out with my MSI rig (which works perfectly BTW), I'm sending this back for a replacement because the audio and video skipping is simply intolerable.
Other Thoughts: For an 'ultra durable' board, it sure doesn't seem to be living up to its claims. I'm hoping they'll replace this with the new version 1.3 and that it will live up to their claims a lot better than this one did.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This is pretty quick RAM and some of the best 1600 memory for the money at $10/gig. On top of that, it's got a lifetime warranty and the heatsinks look awesomely cool.
Cons: Doesn't make me a sandwich.
Other Thoughts: I'm thinking about picking up another set of this stuff to have a 16GB matching set before they discontinue it. I haven't heard anything about them discontinuing it, but companies always switch stuff around at some point.READ FULL REVIEW
