Logitech K400 (920-003070) Black USB RF Wireless Standard Keyboard
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: good for HTPC (in theory)

Cons: limited range

Other Thoughts: I got a new (not refurb) one for Christmas 2013 from a big box store. The specs claim 33' range but that seems like a downright lie. I sit about 12 feet away from the receiver (clear line of sight in the front of my HTPC) in my living room this thing has a lot of trouble with that distance. At that range I get some bad lag and the keyboard needs to be pointed right at the receiver. It would be awesome if they made a Bluetooth version of this keyboard because RF doesn't really cut it for a HTPC unless you're in an apartment or a lot smaller room. REMEMBER to turn the keyboard off when you're not using it or it will eat through batteries.

MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: USB 3.0 on-board and rear. Good BIOS. HDMI

Cons: back panel is weak

Other Thoughts: I use this MOBO in a HTPC. I really needed something that had on-board USB 3.0 for the front panel of my case as well as HDMI. this had everything I wanted and was the right price. The back panel it comes with is so weak and flimsy, not a huge deal but a little annoying.

AMD A6-5400K Trinity Dual-Core 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7540D AD540KOKHJBOX
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Fast, able to transcode 1080p with Plex

Cons: Included fan is a little weak

Other Thoughts: I bought this to go in my HTPC. I mainly run Plex Home Theater and Plex Media Server on it and has no problems transcoding any type of video I have tried to play via Plex
