Pros: Bulb is quick to power up and down, very bright, close to that of a 75 watt it claims to match. Color is good, on the cooler side, but not blue.
Cons: Bulb started flickering like a horror show about 10 months into ownership, I doubt the light has more than 1000-1200 hours on it TOPS. Very disappointing. Have another bought at the same time, interesting to see how that continues to hold up.
Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy again with that failure rate, there are better bulbs for the money. Going to see about this supposed "lifetime warranty" but the company has next to no contact info, so I am not going to hold much hope. Probably cost more to return it than I purchased it for.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Frigidaire FRA065AT7 6,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Window-Mounted Mini Compact
Pros: I bought this to cool a 12x12 bedroom. It does that quite effectively. Powerful fan allows it to move the room air through it very quickly. It also has energy saver mode which will turn off the entire unit (even the fan) when the room reaches the desired temperature until the room warms up again.
Cons: This model lacks the remote sensor feature of it's brother the 8,000 btu model. Also the remote does not have a display of the local room temperature like the 8,000 btu model remote.
Other Thoughts: For the price + free shipping you simply cannot beat the unit. My local hw store has a 5,000 btu for over a hundred more, and it's not even digital!READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Frigidaire FRA086AT7 8,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Window Air Conditioner
Pros: Compact unit, easy to handle. Easily cools a 14x22 room I have it in. Energy saver mode and auto fan modes means that the unit will actually totally shut off if the room meets the desired temperature. It will even turn off the fan, thus consuming almost no power unless the room warms up, good for overnight mode when it's naturally cooler.
Cons: Unit can be a little loud, especially on high fan. But I've heard louder window units. And when on low fan, it's reasonable for a bedroom unit.
Other Thoughts: Bonus feature in the remote. The remote has a display that shows the current room temp. It can also be used as a remote sensor for the A/C itself. Letting you place the remote far away (but in line-of-sight for IR) for more accurate room temp. control. Or you can default to the window units local sensor.READ FULL REVIEW
