This review is from: Rosewill RNWA-PoE-1000 PoE Injector
Pros: Good price and very well built. The metal case is excellent.
Cons: I honestly thought these things were pretty much foolproof but not so much. I bought the RNWA to power a ZyXel access point. When I did, the AP's web server was very slow and upload speeds were horrible. I blamed the ZyXel until I tried a PoE Switch and it's own wall wart power supply. The ZyXel worked fine. It also worked fine with a Trendnet PoE injector. But then the Rosewill worked ok with another type of AP. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Rosewill but it seems like this equipment is not as plug and play as I had thought.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: In a previous review I knocked the AP down two eggs because of a temperamental web interface and slow uplink speeds. Both problems turned out to be an uncooperative POE injector. When the AP was powered by a POE switch or it's own wall wart, both problems went away. Sorry for the accidental bad review.
Cons: No instruction manual yet but I am hoping they release one later. The interface is similar enough to the single band units that one can figure it out.
Other Thoughts: Works well now that I have the POE injector problem sorted out. This is the first time I have had a POE unit that didn't operate properly with a certain injector. I have had units (other AP's) that didn't work at all with some kind of injectors (probably not enough power) but this was a strange failure mode. It mostly worked.READ FULL REVIEW
