Pros: After a year and half of ownership this little drive is still kicking with read speeds between 150-250 MB/s which is what the 32GB drive is rated at. I've not had any memory errors or dumps and I've had to reinstall windows twice, but not because of this drive.
Cons: While the read speeds have maintained their stamina, the write speeds have not. The most I get is 50MB/s which I get from my decade old SATA I drive, but considering I almost never write anything but windows updates to the drive I never notice it.
Other Thoughts: It's been a great little OS drive that has lasted and if all you need is 30GB, it works. I know its suppposed to be 32GB but only 29.8 are usable.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast. Stays cool. Does everything it says and has exceeded my expectations.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Paired with a Hyper 212 plus on an ASRock 990fx Extreme3. 32gb SSD for OS and programs. 16gb Ballistix VLP 1600. Everything worked out of the box. Fastest computer I've ever owned. Upgrading from a dual core xeon (a six year old one). This processor blows it away. I don't play games much, nor do i have a gaming video card. I have Quadro 600 1gb. I use Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop. All work beyond expectations. I can actually use the dolphin emulator at full speed now.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Came with 2.5 to 3.5 bracket that fit right into my tool less hard drive slot.
Fastest drive I own.
Instant open applications.
Cons: The advertised max performance on the New Egg site is not accurate. Clearly written on the back of the box are its actual read/write speeds. 250MB/s read, 50MB/s write. New Egg's description is only for the 128 GB version of the drive according to the packaging. Took off an Egg for misrepresentation.
Only 29.8 GB usable.
Other Thoughts: My current system is only SATA I so i cannot test full speed of drive but I do get 120MB/s on a very old motherboard. Even with the limitations of my current computer (this SSD is the first part of my new build. i just wanted to make sure it worked) I am amazed by it. I re-installed MS Office onto it to see if I could get the instant open effect I wanted and I got it. I originally wanted to by ADATA's SP900 line of SSD's but found several reviews outside of New Egg that stated the unreliability of the Sandforce controller. This one uses an older JMicron. If you google search this series of drives, there is a website that put the SP600 128 GB through intense testing and found that it exceeded all its specifications while the SP900 did not.READ FULL REVIEW
