EVGA 8 GeForce 8400 GS 01G-P3-1302-LR 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Runs great with Windows 7 Home Premium on a self-refurbished older computer with a PCI Express bus (Asus P5KPL-AM/PS Mboard w/4GB Corsair xms2 DDR2 & Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 / 3.06 GHz). Even though the board is downgrading, it runs Flash and streams TV shows from the internet without a hiccup (and I'm on wireless). Very reasonable price.

Cons: None that I see, but I'm not a gamer, nor am I editing videos.

Other Thoughts: I had a CPU and HD from an older server whose MBoard & PSU fried when I unplugged it one day. Bought a case/PSU and new MBoard a couple of years ago and there it all sat. This year my laptop's power connector died while on 240V in Europe, and when I got home I needed a replacement computer while waiting for the laptop repair. So finally put the old+new parts together and found out the on-board graphics weren't enough to run Flash, so I got this card.

1 out of 5 eggs Second chance, second failure 12/09/2012

This review is from: TRIPP.LITE U360-004-R USB 3.0 SuperSpeed 4-Port Hub

Pros: Tripp Lite eventually replaced the product that I first got from Newegg (wasn't Windows 7/64 compatible--perhaps old firmware, but wouldn't upgrade either, on multiple computers--see other review). They didn't even require me to send the initial unit back.

Cons: The replacement unit arrived when I was out of town for a month. So I've been using it now for two weeks. It worked like a charm on my Windows 7/64 ultrabook. Until last night. Then it just suddenly died. I've tried unplugging, replugging, tons of stuff. I was only using two of the four ports.

Other Thoughts: I have an old iRocks 4-port ... isn't USB3, but it's been in service for something like 8 years now, used every day. Has gone through multiple operating systems without a whimper, without any upgrading. Runs my keyboard, mouse, and camera.

1 out of 5 eggs Dead AND no online tech support 10/13/2012

This review is from: TRIPP.LITE U360-004-R USB 3.0 SuperSpeed 4-Port Hub

Pros: The reviews looked good.

Cons: First use on my ultrabook. Wouldn't work in the USB 3.0 port at all (as if not plugged in); worked for one afternoon in the USB 2.0 port, from then on is not recognized by Windows. Ports work fine with other hw; device manager reports no problem with ports. Downloaded the product firmware upgrade, but the upgrade scanner can't find the unit in either port. Tried to get support from the Tripplite site, and the model # is not listed under any category on the Post-Sales Technical Support page, so I can't even file a question through their interface.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure you want to hear my other thoughts.
