This review is from: Miikey Rhythm Bluetooth Stereo Headset - Black
Pros: I have been through a number of BOTH wired & wireless headsets, coupled with iPhones: Classic, 3GS and currently 4S, as of this review. Wireless Headsets, yes, because I like to work listening to music and also because I need to make and receive calls as I work.
I just went on a hunch and bought this brand which was hitherto totally unknown to me. I was immediately impressed by the quality packaging, which was certainly a sign of things to come. These things ROCK, whether connected directly or wirelessly.
Clarity across the sound spectrum is a trademark of this headset, even in wireless mode. It can also go LOUD if the material being listened to has enough dB. For example some recorded podcasts are adequate in volume while certain live streams are so clear and loud it is amazing, even in wireless mode, coming from an iPhone (Shoutcast).
This is as close to audiophile quality as this price point will allow, given that it does quite a decent job of isolating external sounds as
Cons: The microphone part, though far better than any other in the numerous headsets I have bought and even tried out, could use some improvement. It sometimes (not always) picked up ambient noises better than / over its intended target, ie, my voice, as my interlocutors told me. At other times, it was crystal clear and they couldn't tell I was using a headset. This however, to date, is the bane of devices of this nature, till a breakthrough is found.
I am tempted to keep it on for hours because of the sound quality from music playing. In the beginning it is comfortable but after a while it starts to feel pinchy .... on my ears and head .... maybe my head expands after the incredible sound output from this set ...
The controls, though solid to the touch, sometimes take a few tries before they accept commands and send them to my phone, even when the phone is in my pocket.
These cons, though not very troublesome to me, could be resolved by the manufacturer.
Other Thoughts: Overall, a very good deal, come to think that it once attracted a $200.00 price tag from the manufacturer, alongside its competitors. Even then, given its amazing sound delivery and superb noise cancellation, I would be muttering under my breath yet would still go out and buy it, if the price did not change.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: 12 Gauge 50 feet Clear Speaker Wire
Pros: Good, solid wire. Different colors - copper and silver colors in separate sheaths, very good for identifying polarity. Blends in well with a variety of backgrounds .... on the floor or on the carpet ... at least in my house.
Cons: Length advertised on product is FALSE ! I bought 2 rolls to begin with according to the calculated length of what I would need. 2 x 50 Ft, that is, 100 feet, should have been more than adequate for my needs but guess what: IT CAME UP SHORT. Measured lengths were 45.6 and 46.6 feet respectively. I benevolently attributed this to defective manufacturing equipment, so I ordered 2 more, since I genuinely liked the product and because it did well with my heavy duty receiver and speakers. These were also shrter than 50 ft !
Other Thoughts: I will still buy from Metra because the product was inexpensive, good value for money and above all, did reasonably well with my equipment, BUT, if what I buy is not what is advertised, they will certainly hear about it. It is very inconvenient to make your calculations, start laying the cable, and then come up short, never mind that it's at a bargain price ....READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Let's just say' " I'll give it another shot when my re-order arrives ....."
Cons: To be fair to the Manufacturer, the box in which the unit arrived (NOT THE OUTER BROWN UPS BOX IT HAD BEEN SHIPPED IN) had been blatantly breached. There was a box cutter / knife mark right across the 20th anniversary New Egg seal, the mark stretching from one end of the top part of the box to the other.
At what point of the unit's journey could this have happened ? The warehouse ? The UPS box in which it arrived was INTACT, not even a scratch !
Anyway, I called NewEgg right away to report this. There was further trepidation when I I took the unit out of its rubber sheath. I noticed that there were smudge marks and light finger prints on the unit itself. Someone had MOST definitely been there before me ...
The (anti) climax was when I finally plugged it in and it read, "Total size:121 Gigabytes" out of which free space was "121 Gigabytes"..... go figure ....
I called right back. All this happened in less than 45 mins.
Other Thoughts: The staff at NewEgg was very courteous and I commend them for their politesse and good customer service. However, one would think that in a case like this, after I had made it known that I would be ordering another one right away (in the interest of TIME) while I waited for a refund on the first, they would have had the courtesy to offer expedited shipping for MY Patience, Inconvenience and above all, Business ....READ FULL REVIEW
