ASUS RT-N53 Dual Band Wireless N600 SOHO Router, DD-WRT Open Source support, Fast Ethernet, 5 Guest SSID, Parental Access Time control to Each User
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Cheap, Makes a good 5GHz bridge for PS3, Best of all can run tomato firmware on it.

Cons: No gigabit, would make a crummy main router, sometimes have to reboot when I reboot my main router to connect to Steam network.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because it was the cheapest 5GHz router I could find at a local F r y's and got lucky when I found shibby has a tomato firmware version that works on it (including 5GHz). I bought it as a wireless bridge for my PS3. I would actually give it more 3.5 stars because its stock firmware is garbage and it was a total pain the rear to install Tomato on the thing. Shibby has some nasty bugs in his default version like the VLAN by default not being setup when you first flash so you can only connect to the router via wireless until you fix. Basically unless you are highly technically competent and only need a bridge you are better off spending a few extra bucks for a less bare bones router.

Deluxe USB Cooling Fan for Sony PS3

5 out of 5 eggs for $10 bucks a no brainer 03/30/2013

This review is from: Deluxe USB Cooling Fan for Sony PS3

Pros: Works great. Greatly reduced my PS3 original fatty (20 gig version) suddenly shutting itself down when playing COD zombies which had started occurring recently.

Cons: The increase of fan noise is noticeable. Not a big deal for a hard core gamer but might annoying the home theater snobs but then since they rarely stress their PS3s they don't need anyway.
