AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Runs good, Temps at idle are typically about 98 degrees F or 37 degrees C. I use a Zalman 110mm copper heatsink and fan. Probably the best bank for your buck Processor.

If your building an AMD system for gaming, here are some metrics. I paired this with an MSI R9 285, Corsair Vengeance 16GB memory, and an MSI 990FXA GD80. I highly recommend MSI components for any AMD build, I've been using them for about a decade, and they have been almost zero fail builds.

I ran 3dmark advantage on the combo stated above and got 18,542 on the Skydiver test and 6,560 on the fire strike test. Pretty good results for an overall low cost build.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Probably the best bank for your buck Processor. I also run a lot of older games from as far back as the 90's. On windows 7, with the combination I have, I have compatibility issues at all. Everything just runs perfect.

Pros: Just for some metrics if your building AMD systems. I used this with an AMD FX 8350 and Corsair Vengeance 16GB and an MSI 990FXA GD80. I ran 3dmark Advanced on the standard settings and pulled 18,542 in the SkyDiver Test and 6,560 in the Firestrike test.

I also have an AMD Phenom 960T quad core system running an MSI R7265 and it pulled much less, 6,500 and 3,100 respectively. The 8350 and the 285 are a huge improvement.

Cons: None So Far. Its a big card, so plan accordingly.

Other Thoughts: Runs Great, very quiet.

Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe 116dB SNR Gaming Sound Card with 600ohm Headphone Amp and Beamforming Microphone

Pros: It does work, kinda. Poor quality audio.

Cons: Where do I start... Its not good. I've been using SoundBlasters since the windows 95 days and this thing is a huge let down. The audio settings and speaker setup are just plain broken. The audio quality is substandard, so much so I just went back to my SoundBlaster X-Fi gamer, which is much better. Its simple to setup and just puts out great audio.

Other Thoughts: I guess If you are coming from junk onboard audio, this thing is great. But if you are a SoundBlaster Veteran from the 90's on up, its not. Stick with your SoundBlaster X-Fi and save your money.
