Pros: First my setup is simple:
AMD Quad Core Fx 4300
Graphics before AMD R7 240 2Gig
Now, the computer was fast and decent with the old card. It ran most games on medium/high. Average FPS was around 30-45 at the most.
With this new card, I also chose this over the Ghost Core Edition 7770 because of the dual fans and 2 gigs of ddr5. I knew I would not have to upgrade this over the next few years since this is a 260x, a fairly new card compared to the 7 series.
The card was simple to install, though it's pci express 3.0, I have a 2.0 MOBO and it looked like it wouldn't fit at first (theres an extra tab of board before the pci bracket itself). It is slightly large but just make sure you look at the dimensions of your case space before you order. Simple on your part, should not be their fault if you run into space. Only thing I had to do was move a sata cable.
The card is quiet, and very powerful. I am able to run WoW, CS, DIRT, SHIFT 2, THIEF and a few other games that I own* have not tested any more yet* on max settings. Battlefield has a mix of High's and Med's but it is incredible. I was barely pushing High's with the old card, and mostly mediums. Card was quiet throughout performance test's and stress tests and could deliver what I expected.
Im glad that I waited a week to order this as they put back the AMD REWARD cards with this. I got DIRT 3 and THIEF with it. Code worked flawlessly and quickly redeemed my codes in steam.
Cons: None, see thoughts though please
Other Thoughts: I am completely happy with this card. Delivered, installed and up and running within minutes. Make sure to uninstall the previous drivers before hand and you are all set.
One thing I messed up on was that there is the protective plastic on the card that's on the aluminum and fans. I took off the aluminum plastic, but there was also some on the fan that I thought was on the whole top of it, it turned out to only be a little ring and I took off the sticker to the fan logo. Doesn't bother me, and Im sure it doesn't void the warranty, but I put it back on. Really happy and I will not have to upgrade for a long time now. Spend the money and get this card.
Pros: This computer is great. Alot of improved parts have been added since people bought it over the past year or so.
R7 240 2GIG Graphics card which is awesome
Six usb ports *All the reviews stated its a typo, it is in fact not anymore*
The MB is a MSI 760 GM P34 FX
Big case with lots of room
Wires were extremely well hid and very clean.
Five Hard Drive Bays
Came with a nice keyboard and mouse
Smooth and Fast
Better PSU than they used to put in. Not the cheap one everyone was worried about
Cons: I do not have any cons honestly other than that the keyboard has a vertical enter button which messed me up a few times but that is all. Every one say's this computer is loud, and it IS NOT.
Other Thoughts: The only planned upgrade I have for this is adding my old hard drive to this as well as a ssd just for some games. I don't mind the 500 gig stock one at all. To some that may be an issue but its not to me.READ FULL REVIEW
