This review is from: Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System
Pros: I am very picky with my sound. I have had these speakers for three years and i am still buying new sound cards and downloading plugins to make them sound better. i use it of rmy home theater atm. DTS is the best. I compared this to a harmon/kardon avr 635 AV amp with JBL studio monitors (2000$ a piece) and a 4 foot by 3 foot 4000wat sub. for the price its just as good. granted the harmon system is a 15,000$ system. it has very good highs and mids. i have noticed that the 1500$ JBL floor speakers also have phase plugs such as these on the 5500's. the sub is great and thumps very hard. it does how ever compete with my friends lifestyles bose system. THX is a dang good cert to have. i have not hooked it up to my PC yet to test out diff EQ's becasue im more of a EQ flat. im used to studio monitors at EQ flat.
Cons: my sub doesnt mute only my speakers. not all the time but sometimes. i have noticed on certain xbox games and movies i get audio clipping. but out of my 30+games and 200+ movies only one games does that and its unreal 2k and the movie is Eagles dvd concert of hell freezes over.
Other Thoughts: for the price you will NOT find any thing better until logitech comes out with the z-7700's (its only speculation ATM). the local store wanted about 800-900$ for a setup that would come close to this. they even had one set up and it sounded ok.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Harman/Kardon AVR240 7.1-Channel 7 x 50W 7.1 Channel Surround Sound Receiver
Pros: First off. i live near the main Harmon music group HQ in utah and i have a fwew friends who work there. Have this hooked up to 5 JBL studio moniters and a 4000Wat Sub that is 3 feet high by 4 feet wide. the sub has its own amp that hooks to this. also have a semisonic synth and harmonic synth to increase highs and mids along with lows. kinda like 24 bit crysalization on x-fi sound cards. has very very clean sound and great power. the room its in is built almost to spec for THX certifacation. its easy to use and very crispy lookin in the dark.
Cons: its my nieboors and not mine. i told him i would write the review for him.
Other Thoughts: i wanna hook up my x-fi xtreme music sound card to this and see what it can do. his sub sure beats the heck out of my logitech z-5500's. my z-5500 has the same power rating almost. 505 RMS wats and 1010 peak. im trying to find some good studio moniters or sonys to hook up to my z-5500READ FULL REVIEW
