Overall Review: The dvi screen looks very good out of the box, if over bright. The hdmi side when connected to a second computer required selection of MagicBright from the menu and some fussing with the video driver's utility. It was necessary to use the video driver's over-scan options to fill the hdmi screen. Additionally, the color was too green and I had to boost the blue channel for a neutral gray. Choosing MagicBright, either full or intelligent, results in a less than optimum screen image for the dvi side as well. The green and red channels are unbalanced, but the only option with MagicBright selected is to use the video driver's utility. Samsung provides two programs: MagicTune and NaturalColor. Both of these programs blue screened the system that uses hdmi. Both of these systems use current hardware and XP sp3. To sum up: very good value using the dvi input. However, using the hdmi input may require patience and compromise.

Pros: Bought the old one nearly six years ago. It's a classic. This was my third SeaSonic, two of the older S12s are still running.

Cons: I have a Source switching problem that I have been unable to resolve with HP support. I have two conventional towers connected to this monitor: DVI and VGA. Occasionally, if the VGA computer is left to idle for some time the monitor looses the VGA signal. If you then switch to the VGA source the monitor crashes, that is you have to unplug the power cable to reboot the monitor (just like a lcd tv). This procedure will restore the DVI source, but the VGA source can only be restored by rebooting that computer. As I told HP, this is unacceptable behavior. Backlight bleed is worse than I had hoped for. DVI and HDMI share the input, given the quality of the speakers HDMI appears to be of little value.

Overall Review: I would have paid more for better quality, but the sad fact is I couldn't find anything better. So I bought this hoping there will be more choice in the future, given my general dissatisfaction, I hope it's the near future.

Overall Review: Eighth disc did not verify. These TDK were an irresistible bargain. I should have resisted. TDK is no longer a brand to be trusted.
