COUGAR Spike Black Steel / Plastic MicroATX Mini Tower Gaming Case with USB 3.0 and 12CM Cougar Fan

4 out of 5 eggs Nice case with one or two small flaws 02/09/2014

This review is from: COUGAR Spike Black Steel / Plastic MicroATX Mini Tower Gaming Case with USB 3.0 and 12CM Cougar Fan

Pros: Nice looking, feels well made, fits hardware well despite being small. The single fan seems to move an adequate amount of air for my interior even though it's cramped and filled to the brim with wires; my 4770k stays at relatively low temperatures even with the stock cooler and a bunch of wires entangling it in this case.

Cons: Not really any cable routing options other than maybe one hole. I suggest a modular PSU for this case.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if this is a problem with the case's integrated frontal audio jacks or an issue with my motherboard, an MSI 787M-G43. When I plug in my headphones into the two front audio ports, people I speak to with the headphone's mic say they can hear themselves almost as though the microphone is directly next to a speaker or folded into my ear cup. I didn't have this issue with my old case's front ports, and I don't have this problem with the motherboard's on board audio jacks in the back of my case, leading me to believe that maybe the case audio ports aren't grounded well or are just cheap.
