This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N300 Gigabit DD-WRT Wireless Router - WZR-300HP
Pros: Comes with dd-wrt installed. Usb port for shared printing or file sharing.
Cons: I don't get as good of a signal from this router as I do from a 6 year old draft-n router. The usb port is only 2.0.
Other Thoughts: All of the good things from this router are features from dd-wrt. It was convenient not having to flash it myself. Setting up a vpn server and file sharing with samba were easy enough to set up. The best feature is you can set an ip to ping at set intervals, if it can't successfully ping it for a set period of time, it will reset the router. That kept me from having to go back and unplug it due to my shoddy internet service.
Given the signal problem, the only reason I am still using this router is as a bridge, i.e. two wired networks with a wireless connection between them. That is another great feature of dd-wrt.
I guess the hardware deserves credit for having the necessary memory and processor power to run dd-wrt, but if you can't get a good signal on your devices then what good is that?
