Pros: Specs look good on paper, has 4x DDR3 banks, stable, for the most part.
Cons: This MB takes forever to boot Ubuntu 14 from an SSD as the main HD. I have to restart the PC like 5 or 6 times before it detects the OS. I bought the rev 2.0 in late August 2014, now I find that the rev 3.0 came out 2 weeks later. Seeing as how they have different bios, Gigabyte must have updated something. Newegg had no info on which version was for sale, nor that a newer one was being released so soon.
I feel like I got sold a bad MB, with a load of problems. It's not like I'm even trying to OC this thing or have any exotic options. I just want to boot from the SSD, the first time I turn it on. There shouldn't be any issues detecting an SSD in a MB released in 2014, especially one that calls itself "UltraDurable", at least have a bios update that fixes the issue, instead they come out with a new version, leaving previous owners in the lurch.
Now I have to go through the RMA process, or get a different MB.
Pros: Burns Dual layer dvds; quiet.
Cons: Only burns 6x DVD-DL, otherwise none thus far.
Other Thoughts: Replaced an H.L GSA T10N with this one. The previous one would not play DVD+Rs or dual layer movie dvds.
This one does.
Would have bought the sata version which burns 8x DLs, but my laptop only has an IDE port for the DVD.
Pros: Good card for the price. I use it for an HTPC.
The card I received had a 6PIN PCI-E Connector, and not a 4pin molex connector as shown. Luckily I had an adapter in my posession, or i would have been royally piss3d.
ALSO, the card is set to PAL, not NTSC out of the box. To get S-Video in NTSC, you must move the jumper on the fan side over one pin.
Other Thoughts: ATI only has drivers for the PCI-E version of the card on their site. If powercolor stops supporting the card you are S0L.
Only consider purchasing this card for a legacy AGP system for HTPC or for children or grandma.
DO NOT build a new PC around this card. PCI-E versions are cheaper, faster and have better OEM support.
