Pros: I bought this from the EVGA website for 329.99
ASIC quality 85% as tested with GPUZ
Normal boost clock 1150mhz
Blows all the hot air out the back
Good upgrade coming from a gtx 580
Cons: Benchmarks: unigine heaven 2.5 @ defaults
max temp 70 C
fan 100% 4200 rpms core clock 1280mhz voltage 1.212
(the core clock will go over 1300 but i was getting artifacts)
intel core i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz
8gb kingston hyperx black ddr3 1600 xmp
this graphics card
cooler master tx3 cooler
corsair cx 600
750gb seagate hdd
92mm blademaster case fan
all 4 of the fan headers are 4 pin pwm. ironically, the motherboard has been discontinued also. my first time with intel and asus.
Other Thoughts: I never buy overclocked cards. I alway buy blower style cards to get the hot air out. This is the most basic GTX 770 so the price is right and the performance outstanding.
The fan operates from 25% to 100%. I always use MSI afterburner. I downloaded the latest beta version today and found the voltage unlocked. In games the temps are around 55-60C and the fan is quiet. I lost a gig of memory coming from the 580, but i never used more than 1875mhz anyway. The pixel rate of the 580 is higher than this, but when overclocked to 1158mhz they are the same. I really wanted a 780 but didnt have the extra 200 bucks. I am very pleased with this card. I wonder if anyone will read this?
Cons: Makes a buzzing electrical sound. Re-boots.
Other Thoughts: I no sooner logged out of newegg after writing my review and saying i found that 2 pcie cables seemed to be the answer to the buzzing sound then ran unigine heaven. It started buzzing as soon as the program started and then rebooted.
So now i get to RMA 2 power supplies.
I put the Corsair CX600 back in for now. There is already an rma on this for a bad fan. Also noticed the gpu fan doesnt run as fast as with the rosewill 650m.
Cons: I heard a buzzing sound from the moment i pressed the power button. My video card takes a 6 pin and 8 pin and they have both of them on a single cable. When running a 3d application the psu makes a buzzing electrical sound. My computer has shut down and re-booted several times and i know this psu should have more than enough power. I decided to run a second cable to the video card and the noise stopped. What if i was running sli and needed that cable for a 2nd card? It just doesnt work like it should.
Other Thoughts: I ordered this to replace a corsair cx600 psu. that one has a defective fan, but power wise it worked. I seem to going in the wrong direction with power supplies. I bought an asus motherboard, i5, and some good memory to upgrade my computer but so far it hasnt been a good experience. I may take everything back out and put it back original.READ FULL REVIEW
