Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770

  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: works as stated per Intel spec sheet. Allows me to run multiple VM's without issues.

Cons: It runs VERY hot (at 100% load) if using stock CPU cooler fan that comes with the retail box.

Other Thoughts: Buy a good cooler. I went for Arctic Freezer 13 CO as my case is a mid-tower. It brought down 100% load CPU temperature from 90-95C down to 65-70C.

Used it on MSI Z77A-GD65 with Corsair vengenance LP 4 x 8GB RAM.

ARCTIC Freezer 13 CO CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, for 24/7 Operation
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Dropped CPU temp about 20 - 25C when compared to stock Intel CPU.

Intel i7 3770 with stock cooler would give about 96C when running Prime95. With Arctic Freezer 13 CO, it dropped to about 71 C.

Cons: Not a real con, but the 92mm fan barely clears over the low profile RAM.

Other Thoughts: Intel i7 3770
MB: MSI Z77A-GD65
Corsair Vengeance low profile 4x 8GB

  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: The "expert" who had to write the "Response" utterly forgot to mentioned that industry uses measure of 1GByte = 1 000 000 000 bytes , while computer treats 1Gbyte = 1 073 741 824 bytes. Thus computer's count is actually 6.9% LESS than what the vendor states.

Cons: The loss due to formatting is actually below 1% of the total space available.

Other Thoughts: Same advice you gave to other!
