This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-637AP Wireless Easy-N-Upgrader 802.11b/g/n and 802.11e up to 300 Mbps
Pros: Ease of Setup. Worked well for a few months.
This is a status update
Cons: My first post stated the issues. I did get an email from the manufacturer promising RMA after I provided some details. That was 10 days ago. The line went dead after I emailed specifics.
NO Follow up, NO RMA provided.
Stay clear of these guys. I picked up two Netgear routers/access points as replacements.
Other Thoughts: If Trend Net is serious. Get back in touch with me with honest communication, and RMA and I will post resolution if you do what you HAD PROMISED.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: WD TV Live Media Player WDBHG70000NBK-HESN
Pros: Everything that I said previously! I love this device. This is an update on AVI stuttering
Cons: After months of usage, I loaded a slug of new AVI files, and to my surprise about half started "stuttering" loosing sync and audio. WD Tech support was the best I have had, but was not able to solve the problem.
I found a solution of sharing the files off of the Synology 209 as CIFS shares and not streaming. This solved the network congestion problem (both wired and wireless) for certain AVI's. I think there is a firmware issue that WD needs to find. Work around works 100% so no foul in my book.
Tech support was truly outstanding. They did get a little miffed when I described my "home" network, saying it was too commercial and complicated...(Cisco 2960 Switch, 3 Wireless Access Points, 2 Servers 3 Synology 209's) what can I say, I run my business out of my home!
Other Thoughts: Still satisfied with purchase and impressed with WD support!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Nice solid hard drive for my "fleet" of IBM X30, X31 and X32 laptops. I have used 5 of these so far in the family fleet. All have performed flawlessly, and successfully got 2 kids through college with the laptops they went with.
Cons: None. You never know for sure, but 5 of these have been flawless so far.
Other Thoughts: I originally bought 2 of these WD, 2 Samsung, and 2 Hitachi. Only the "fleet" of WD's is still going strong!READ FULL REVIEW
