This review is from: EdgeStar Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with Air Purification
Pros: It blows air with slightly lower sensible temperature.
Cons: None really, for what it is and what it costs. Just don't expect much.
Other Thoughts: First, people who think this will cool indoors need to talk to somebody who passed thermodynamics. It will NOT cool a closed space. Over time, it would just make a hot, dry room a hot, humid room. Outdoors (on a porch) it gives a nice breeze. If it is really hot (100+) and dry, it's nicer than a plain fan. 4-5 degrees lower sensible temperature sitting in the flow stream.
But manufacturer claim of "up to" 12 degrees of sensible temperature drop will disappoint most users. That level of performance would require inhuman ambient conditions.
Pros: Very handy, nice room accent
Cons: none. what's with all the 4 stars
Other Thoughts: This is not so much for illumination as room accenting. I use one in my theatre for mood lighting and a couple in my bedroom. Sorta sexy, plus you don't have to get out of bed to turn the lights off!
You get a remote with each bulb and they are interchangeable, so you have spares if you buy more than one bulb. No idea how long the bulbs or remotes last, but mine are going strong nearly a year.
I am going to order more and give them as gifts.
