Streaming??
Pros: So I got this CPU to upgrade my wife's system, which is in our living room and we use it to Stream some stuff...Netflix, Vudu etc...to our HD TV...we couldn't use the wireless portion of our setup to watch anything because it was all so choppy. Wired it worked fine with an old ATI 1950 pro... Un-watchable other wise. So, I put my old ATI 5830 in her machine, and new MoBo to support this CPU...and streaming wireless is flawless...it's amazing! The moral of the story...your whole system effects performance of everything!
Cons: Haven't experienced any cons....so far.
Overall Review: I've heard and read a lot about there is no use or need for 8 cores, and Intel, is "so much better than AMD"...like Clint Eastwood said, "Opinions are like A-Holes, everyone has one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks"... Read reviews and make up your own mind...use some good common sense when you read them, and you can make a very informed decision! Too bad if the Intel "Fan Boys" don't like it!
True Audiophile review
Pros: Actual rating is a ZERO!..... none...maybe you can listen to audio books,,,then the siound quality won't really matter.
Cons: These are probably the worst headphones I have ever heard. I can't believe I spent $20 on this junk. I own a $2800 B&K Pre-Amp Processor. B&K is an American made audiophile company! So I know what i am talking about. The only reason i bought these was because Skull Candy was recommended as "the best ear buds" by a well respected friend of mine who recently passed away. I would tell him he's nuts too if I could! Maybe the model he got were great...but i don't know what they were.
Overall Review: Want a good set of headphones...Koss...they make great sounding headphones at very low prices. Not sure if they have ear buds. I am gonna check out their website as soon as I am done writing this. Also, my set have no volume control...which I too don't really want... but makes you wonder about the manufacturer: what are they doing?
Easy mod makes it fits CoolerMaster HAF case
Pros: Very nice specs, no issues like the 760 I had...good card. Happy so long as it doesn't do what the 760 did...which was red lines and artifcacting like crazy...but sure that was a bad GPU.
Cons: Does NOT FIT Cooler Master HAF case....BUT...and I'll try to upload a video to show how to fix this...IT CAN BE MODDED without ANY traditional modification leaving your warranty intact!!!!! The problem is the cheap plastic "brace" these cards use. Since the HAF case uses the clip lock down instead of a screw, it needs the back part of the bracket on the video card, or any other expansion card as part of the lock down. The plastic brace BLOCKS the case lock down from engaging!!!! Fortunately, there are two small Philips screws attaching the plastic brace to the video card that you can remove and they are accessible from the outside once the card is installed. This is important because I think it is a problem to leave this brace unsecured, therefore since they can be re-installed this mod should NOT affect the card adversely! If you have this card and case, it is obvious why it won't lock down, but fixing it is not. Once you remove these two screws it will lock down, and they can be re-attached once the card is re-installed. Tighten till snug!!!! These threads on the plastic side ARE PLASTIC...and will be easily stripped! So do not over tighten! Good card with an easy fix and if you are mechanically inclined enough to effect this mod, I see no reason not to buy this card. MSI, should send me a free 770 for this info so I can SLI these cards! As well as this is a fix for the 760 as well as any other MSI card using this bracing!
Overall Review: If you have a HAF case like I do, you most likely know computers. You shouldn't have a problem with any stock product fitting into your case. MSI, shouldn't tell you, you are wrong when you say it doesn't fit, assuming you are an idiot! (it fit, it just sat there dangling from the MoBO connection, so it DID NOT FIT as intended), instead, they should manufacturer a proper product! Also, I know for a fact they never installed this in a Cooler Master Haf case or they would not tell me it fit!!! I'll try to make a video ASAP, but I run a business so time is limited! Hopefully, my written explanation was good enough so most can understand!
Gigabyte doesn't honor warranty!
Pros: none
Cons: Trying to think how to make this short....had two 5830's in Crossfire...so this review is about Gigabyte's backing their cards...fan stopped on one, ruined the card because it over heated...RMA'd it...told the GPU was bad...they replaced the fan and sent the bad card back to me. Consequently, I have fired them from ALL future business! Card stopped working very shortly after! I have a Sapphire 1950 Pro which still works perfect! Sapphire is a much better company Imo! I emailed Gigabyte prior to them returning my damaged card, and told them I knew it was damaged and not to return the bad card, but they did anyway!
Overall Review: The only recourse the customer has now is our reviews, so be sure to write reviews when you can, and maybe it will force scum like Gigabyte to honor their warranties!
So So...
Pros: FPS in CoD Ghosts nice, in Black Ops 2 excellent. Software seems nice....but too much of a good thing? I say yes.
Cons: Artifact-ing right out of the box in "gaming mode". Confusing settings for the MSI apps. Fan settings don't hold. Too many "apps" for the card. At the end of the day the artifacting kills this card for me. Including weird distortions of graphics. Returned it got my money back!
Overall Review: I haven't bought Nvidia in years. Wanted to give them a try. Very disappointed. Debating if I want to give them one more shot, since I know getting a bad GPU happens! In my experience ATI has been way more reliable!
WD ROCKS
Pros: Well Hard drives fail and I know lots of people get bad drives right from the factory. So far I have been lucky. I did however have this drive fail after about 2 years. How is this a pro? Good question, I am glad you asked. Well I put off RMA'ing the Drive until this week. WD not only replaced it, they replaced it with the 2 TB version. And get this. They received the bad drive Monday, and I received the replacement today. 4 days.....REALLY!!!!! AWESOME Customer Service...Thanks WD!!!
Cons: failures...I mean they DO suck!!!
Overall Review: I just bought 2 SSD for my 2 primary machines, now I wish WD made SSD.
