ENERMAX MAGMA UCMAA12A 120mm Case Fan

5 out of 5 eggs 01/17/2010

This review is from: ENERMAX MAGMA UCMAA12A 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Terrific fans! I have 3. 2 on my heatsink and 1 as my case exhast. They move a great amount of air and are very quite. The only thing you hear is the woosh of air, not the whine of a motor. Much quieter than my SFF21F. My cpu temps are 39/78 idle/load, where load=prime95.

Cons: these fans are 26mm instead of 25mm thick. May be a nonissue to most, but some may care.

Other Thoughts: CPU: Core i7 920 D0 Stepping OC to 3.8Ghz @ 1.25v, HT on
Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD5
Memory: 6GB Mushkin DDR3 1600 6-7-6-18
Cooling: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B, Arctic Silver 5, 2 x ENERMAX MAGMA UC-MA12 120mm
Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 932
Hard Drive: WD 300GB Velociraptor
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W
Graphics Card: 512 MB MSI 8800GT OC
Optical: LG DVD Burner GH20NS15
Monitor: 28" Hanns*G
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great motherboard. Is capable of sustaining a bclk of at least 200mhz. The voltage as well as the temperature necessary to keep it there was too much for me, so i bumped it down to 190 and everything is running fine. My heatsink (detailed below) is running a push/pull configuration going east to west. There are no height clearance issues between the board's heatsinks and my cpu heatsink. My 120x26mm fan does cover the first memory slot and partially covers the second one which is populated with a memory stick. The power, reset, clear cmos buttons, and dual bios are a nice touch. The bios is great and simple.

Cons: The top pcie x1 slot (as obvious in the pictures) is completely useless. The board has 6 fan headers, however only four of them are seen in bios/speedfan.
