This review is from: AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 6-Core 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX
Pros: Runs cooler than my Phenom X4 955 Black Edition, great performance out of the box in my AsRock 880G Pro. My CoolerMaster 212 idles this baby at 36c right after install. Great multi-thread performance.
Cons: didn't make me a sammich, oh well.
Other Thoughts: I know AMD is a few notches back from the Intel Core I series, but for what I do, I can't beat the value. This is my third processor upgrade, and I am able to re-install my second processor(the Phenom X4 955BE) into my first ASRock 780GXE board. Then the 2.8 Athlon II X2 will go into a new AM3+ board for the grandkids to mess with. If they need more horsepower in the future, I can grab up another proc for reasonable coin. AMD's forward-thinking on CPU socket design makes a lot of sense for me and the family machines I support.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASRock 880G PRO3 AM3+ AMD 880G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: USB3, Firewire, SATA 6GB/S, UEFI, so it can handle above 2.7TB Hard drives!
Smooth operating, well laid-out board. My second AsRock board, and I am a fan. This was easy to set up.
Cons: no PS/2 for mouse,
no IDE, no Floppy! but hey! this is the future!
Other Thoughts: So how do I make the SATA Raid Driver floppy? and how would I load them without the floppy? Not ready for Raid yet anyway.READ FULL REVIEW
