1 out of 5 eggs RMA denied over i/o shield 02/12/2014

This review is from: ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Other Thoughts: First review ever. I’ve probably spent well over $20,000 at Newegg over the years on computer components and peripherals. Recently, for 2 PC builds, I purchased 2 Asus Z87-A motherboards. The second mobo was DOA, so I RMA. Turns out I forgot to include the i/o back panel shield with my return. Newegg won’t process my RMA “incomplete return”. I figure no biggie, so I call and tell them to just take the i/o shield out of the box containing the replacement board. They tell me they can’t because the replacement box (Asus) is “sealed”. Well, neither of the 2 Asus Z-87-A boxes I was sent were sealed, nor was either of the anti-static bags actually containing the motherboards sealed. So I tell them IF, in fact, Asus seals the box/anti-stat bag, then they (Newegg) have sent me 2 “open box” motherboards (the second being DOA) and charged me FULL, NEW RETAIL price for them, which really ticks me off. All this hassle over a 50 cent piece of metal (the i/o shield). So now I’m out $150 because of a cheap 50 cent part they could easily remove from the replacement they OWE me. Last Asus product I buy and last purchase from Newegg.
