This review is from: Antec NeoECO C NeoECO 620C 620W ATX12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Pros: Single 12V rail, large quiet fan, 80 Plus rating, sleeved cables.
Cons: Fan began making a ticking noise too close to the cutoff for RMA to Newegg, so had to RMA through Antec. Antec's RMA process was almost as good as that of Newegg.
Other Thoughts: Antec's RMA process was almost as good as that of Newegg. Replacement unit was shipped the day after my box arrived at Antec. This was my first Antec to go bad in any way before the warranty expired.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fairly quiet drives with reasonable heat. Lots of space. First drive formatted and is working well. An RMA replacement drive is also working well.
Cons: If ordering more than one drive, be prepared to RMA a drive or two. After buying a first drive with good results, I decided to buy a second. The second drive failed during format and had to be RMA'ed. The failed drive was a complete brick and would no longer be recognized by the bios.
Other Thoughts: I found that these newer EARS (advanced format) drives do not like some of the SATA controllers that I have available. A built in JMicron 363 controller works well with the EARS drives but attempting to use the drive on either the AMD SB600 ports or an old SiliconImage 3114 PCI SATA 1.5 controller will hang during post. An older EADS 1.5TB drive will work on the SB600, but also fails to post on the SI controller card. Be sure to try other connection options if you think you have a dead drive out of the box.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Antec TruePower New TP-550 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply
Pros: 80 Plus Bronze - at my electric rates at 24/7 operation every watt saved means $1 saved per year.
Quiet fan - can not hear it over other fans in an relatively quiet system.
Hybrid modular cables greatly reduce (not eliminate!) cable clutter while maintaining solid soldered connections for critical system power.
5 year warranty! Hope this line of power supplies can live up to that lifespan.
Cons: None yet...
Other Thoughts: Found that my old power supply and a salvaged spare (both Antec) had suffered severe drops in efficiency likely due to the capacitors aging. The system was drawing a peak of 750w from the wall with the old psu and now sips less than 250w with the TP New 550.READ FULL REVIEW
