Pros: Great power supply for a 1u case. Fits easily, very little noise compared to other server power supplies. Minimal power for my board, 2 ssd's running in 1u case 30 watts of power consumption. I could literally run this server on a cheap solar panel. LOL
Cons: non so far, but like any power supply it really depends on lifetime of running. Since I live on Long Island power sucks. But with constant UPS battery monitoring it I have a feeling this power supply won't quit on me.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASRock AD2550R/U3S3 Mini ITX Server Motherboard DDR3 1066
Pros: This board has every connector you can ever want on it. 2 NIC's that are just awesome. Intel RAID which is fast. Plenty of sata ports, usb ports, on board graphics. Great little Ubuntu server. Combine this with two SSD's in RAID 1 and you got your self a little speed demon.
Cons: no 1U back plate. this is standard height. But I got over it quickly after I saw the amount of connectors this board has to offer. RAM is laptop memory and max is 4GB. Which is not bad, but still rather disappointing since most servers prefer to have more memory.
Other Thoughts: I put this together into a iStar case with iStar power supply 1U rack mount and this is great for things like a phone server, or mini web server (Ubuntu, not windows)READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: EVERCOOL FAN-EC4007M12CA 40mm Case Cooling Fan
Pros: Fans give a descent amount of air flow for 40mm. Speed of fan is miss reported on back of box. I saw it said 4500 RPM on the back of the box. When I plugged it into a motherboard I am getting 5400 RPM. Not that this makes much of a difference. Because the fan puts out a descent amount of air.
Cons: why did I give this 4 eggs. Well the last egg is removed because the screws that came with this fan is pure junk. They don't screw into the fan, they are too small they slip through the holes. I ended up having to use epoxy to get the fans in place. This is tricky and annoying but I couldn't find any screws that would fit these holes. Fans still work but just was annoying to install because I had to take apart the front side of a 1U rack mount case to get them in place.
Other Thoughts: good fan for the price. Quiet and puts out a descent amount of air. But don't expect this to do the work of 120mm fan. Just realize that size does matter when it comes to fans. This has it's purpose which is to allow cooling for small devices. If you have the room, go bigger.READ FULL REVIEW
