Pros: Easy to install if you have a CD drive. decent 2.5ghz connectivity
Cons: 5ghz connectivity is disappointing. Ookla Speed tests showed nearly 2x faster speeds when I was connected via 2.5ghz vs 5ghz. 5ghz is where the wireless AC is. In otherwords, the 5ghz wireless band on this card is limiting my internet download/upload speeds to 12mbit/2mbit vs the 35/8mbit speeds I get wired and with my other wireless devices. 2.4 ghz is also limiting at around 22/4. Making this an overpriced piece of junk. I should have just stuck with a cheap wireless n card rather than pay extra for AC which doesn't work the way it should.
Other Thoughts: I have 2 identical asus 1750 wireless AC routers in opposite ends of the house. The desktop is located between them. My wireless devices (ipad air 2, galaxy note 2014 edition) don't suffer like this does.
Does it work and let me connect my desktop wirelessly when I need it to? Yes. Does it live up to it's performance specs and cost? Not even close.
Pros: was great for a year. worked out of the box.
Cons: network adapter died a few days ago. windows says it can't find the adapter. i tried downloading new drivers from Gigabyte. that didn't work. tried fresh install of windows on a spare hd and had the same problem. also checked the router and that works. it's now been 2 days since i contacted Gigabyte support and i haven't gotten a response. this is unacceptable! Gigabyte better take care of this soon if they expect me to ever buy one of their products again!READ FULL REVIEW
