This review is from: ESET Smart Security 6 - 1 PC
Pros: Mostly written in Assembly Language so fast and light compared to competition. I upgraded to V6 recently from V5 with no problems and NO LOSS OF PERFORMANCE on Windows XP SP3 (my only Windows machine). Very advanced rule config for the knowledgeable. Very intuitive GUI. I have used ESET since V4 when the usual AV vendors hurt performance too much and let thru many test virus sigs. I periodically test its against those others (old IT pro) and it always comes out far ahead.
Cons: Relatively expensive but you get what you pay for. US Sales support needs improvement.
Other Thoughts: If you want to stay with WinXP for whatever reason as MS retires it, you would do well to install ESET to protect the machine.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: NETGEAR MCAB1001-100NAS MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit 270 Mbps
Pros: Works as advertised. Easy install.
Cons: No encryption of data. Risk data could leak out of house on coax. You can enable handshake encryption only from console via USB so that only those MoCA devices talk to each other.
Other Thoughts: Why do no MoCA adapter vendors have encryption?
Also, note that this is a layer 2 device and therefore has no ip address.
This review is from: QNAP TS-219P-US Diskless System Turbo NAS with iSCSI for SOHO and Home Users
Pros: Slick hot-plug RAID1. Alerting, re-build, has all tested OK multiple times. In RAID1 with both drives GOOD, unplugging one hot is a good way to test (after backup of course). Device with good drives is quiet and power friendly.
Cons: Not widely available in USA. No data on long term reliability of device.
Other Thoughts: All in all the device delivers in its promise.READ FULL REVIEW
