2 out of 5 eggs Great Cooler and On Sale 09/07/2015

This review is from: be quiet! DARK ROCK TF Low Profile SilentWings CPU Cooler 220W TDP

Pros: Great looks and very quiet, as it should be. Fits many of the mid-tower cases and shouldn't be any issue with the full tower variety. I don't have a lot of numbers for cooling but the first install brought the near CPU idle number down from 61c to 30c. Please note my 'other thoughts' about the clearance issues some others are finding.

Cons: To quote: due to the two outer heat pipes sticking out further than the inner two. This does cause problems. I have two(2) cooler and indeed, the bend in the 4 heat pipes are different. The outer ones are the issue and have no idea why their engineers did this. If this problem/issue isn't fix ASAP than this cooler may be doomed. Even with the fix below the heat pipes are very close to the memory sticks unless you remove that memory channel from your system. Who's going to do that.

Other Thoughts: This is a short team review but I've installed two of guys and the 2nd one was far easier but it can be done pretty quickly if your set-up properly. The problem of clearance is with AMD and Intel motherboards but was able to do both just fine. Both boards offer some manufacturing leeway for the mounting holes of after market coolers. With both AMD/Intel you need to reposition the work area i.e. motherboard with the mounting screws still loose enough to allow gravity and maybe a little help from you to move within the mounting holes. This slight adjustment away from the Ram area will allow you to install into all 4 slots of most AMD/Intel boards save the 8 slot ones which I have no experience. No contact but (the 2 heat pipes) are very close and will it cause any issues...time will tell. But there shouldn't be this kind of issue with high quality cooler in the first place.

SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 380 100384NT4GOCL 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 ATX Dual-X OC Version (UEFI) Video Card

Pros: Love the looks, the size, speed, features and 4GB besides. 8gb would be heaven but I've got to keep some money in my pocket too.

Cons: You'll need to go elsewhere; I have none.

Other Thoughts: PCI Express 3.0, DirectX 12 support, Dual-X Cooling, 0dBA (no fan) under 52C, so super quiet. Quality parts etc.
