BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

5 out of 5 eggs Fast and Reliable 07/21/2014

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: - Fast
- Adjustable antenna

Cons: - Round Design can prevent adjacent USB slots from being available, if the USB slots are very close together.
- Light is rather bright

Other Thoughts: I've been using this adapter for about 7 months. It has always given me strong performance and no disconnects or inexplicable lag during games.

A couple things to watch out for though: The light on the unit is bright blue, so if you have trouble sleeping with lights on, if this is on a computer in your bedroom, you will likely find it annoying.

Secondly, the drivers on this must be installed from the CD unless you are connected to the internet already. So make sure to plan ahead and ensure you can install the drivers for this adapter to the target computer.

Lastly, if you choose to connect this device to a desktop machine, in the rear, you may find that it's round footprint will block one or more of the surrounding inputs.

My 5-egg score, however, is entirely for the performance and stability of the device, which was nearly perfect.

AMD A6-5400K Trinity Dual-Core 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W AD540KOKHJBOX Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7540D

Pros: - Amazing pricepoint
- Built-in GPU... if you need it
- Easy to OC

Cons: - Horrid stock fan, buy another heat sink/fan. It rattles, it's loud, a blade broke off already.
- This CPU cannot handle CPU intensive games, such as Guild Wars 2, SCII, and Skyrim. No matter how strong your GPU is, expect to see graphical lag in games with high single-thread CPU hits.

Other Thoughts: If you are casual user, this CPU is killer for the price. Even as just a dual-core, it handles multitasking and media quite well on my system.

If you are a gamer, proceed to the A10 series.

(Note on gaming: FF14, Bioshock Infinite, WoW, Minecraft, Far Cry 3... I have experience no lag at all in these titles. Only titles with tremendous reliance on physics and large scale AI will be affected by this CPU)
