HooToo® HT-PC001 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port PCI-E Add-on Expansion Card with 5V 4-Pin Molex Power Connector (VIA VL805 Chipset, Premium Solid Capacitors)
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It fit the PCI-E slot

Cons: Card is recognized, but the setup process involves running an .exe program on the supplied CD to get the drivers. That takes a while. Then, the computer sees the card as active and no problems but as soon as you plug something into it (even a Thumb Drive), you get a "Device overload" error message. Nothing that I plugged into it worked.

Other Thoughts: It was cheap, so I didn't lose much money. Deciding on whether to return it or not.

Transcend JetFlash 600 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model TS32GJF600
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Lived in my pocket for 3 years. Endured rain, snow, heat, cold, at least one trip through the washer, and a lot of use.

Cons: It died after 3 years despite the tender loving care that I gave it.

Other Thoughts: Transcend is sending me another one for free since they have a lifetime warranty.

AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana Triple-Core 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W ADX450WFGMBOX Desktop Processor

5 out of 5 eggs I've built several with the X3 4xx 01/02/2013

This review is from: AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana Triple-Core 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W ADX450WFGMBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: For the price, you can't beat it. In everyday use, with all other components of the PC being the same, it will perform on the level of Intel's Core i5, which costs more than twice as much.

Cons: Haven't come up with any negatives.

Other Thoughts: My main Home PC is an original Core i5. My office PC has the X3 in it. I see very little performance difference between the two very different computers.
