Pros: Sleek design, compact and really quiet even when using AHCI (Thanks to the latest ROM). Comes with Intelligent Provisioning for easy configuration, deployment and maintenance and iLO4 Management Processor that can be accessed from a dedicated NIC port or by sharing the server's NIC#1.
Cons: The Embedded B120i controller is a half baked Smart Array controller.
Other Thoughts: You don't need to buy HP Smart Memory or HP Hard Drives. Mine is running fine with 16Gb Kingston's ECC (p/n KTH-PL316E/8G) and 4 Western Digital Red NAS hard drives.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast when it is not crashing my system.
Cons: My problems started around 2 months ago while playing F1 2012 at stock speed (1050 GPU/1500 Memory),
Now, I cannot play Battlefield 4 for more than 1 hour without getting the infamous Grey/Black screen crash and the sound looping.
I've tried everything. Several AMD drivers versions and I even bought a 1200W Gold Power Supply to rule out my old 850W Bronze power supply.
The only thing that seems to help is to reduce the video card memory frequency from 1500 to 1450. So, it appears the memory on this video card has developed problems.
Other Thoughts: I didn't get the extended warranty so, I'm going to have to RMA this card directly to Sapphire. Problem is that I don't have a replacement card for the weeks it is going to take the RMA to get processed.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast, quiet and temperature stays around 70º C at heavy load. It is probably the best bang for the buck at this current price, as it comes with 4 free games.
It is currently running at 1100 Mhz and I've had no problems playing BF3 and F1 2012.
Cons: I leave my Rig ON 24/7 and in a couple of occasions, I got no video when I turned ON my Monitor. I had to switch from one DVI port to the next one in order to get video. It could be a driver issue but, I will keep an eye on it. Also, ASIC quality was shown as 60.1% by GPU-Z. Not sure you can trust this number.
Other Thoughts: It's replacing my 3 years old HD 5970. I was hesitant to buy a HD 7970 thinking the upgrade from a dual GPU card to a single 7970 Ghz would not be worth but, I was wrong. The extra RAM on this card and ROPs do make a huge difference when playing these DX11 games at high settings. It could also be that Crossover was holding back my old HD 5970.
I would probably get a second one for Crossfire as soon as AMD fixes the drivers.
