ASUS B85M-G R2.0 LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: looks pretty

Cons: board arrived completely dead, no lights or bios; tried 2 new PS,
but it is dead.

Other Thoughts: is there ANY quality control at ASUS these days?
this is ridiculous.
hope the replacement works, it's holding me up big time now.

Netgear N900 Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Router with 3.5

2 out of 5 eggs great while it worked 01/29/2014

This review is from: Netgear N900 Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Router with 3.5" Storage Bay (WNDR4700)

Pros: network drive function is terrific. Speed WAS good.
Pretty good wireless signal.

Cons: poor longevity, need to return after only 3 months.
NETGEAR RMA PROCESS SUCKS! After back-and-forth with 'tech support' for a week, they finally agreed to RMA, only try to process it online....cannot get past the 'I agree to the terms & conditions' page- click 'next' and nothing happens at all. FAIL! What a totally frustrating experience. Try to get someone on the phone-GOOD LUCK! I'll never buy another Netgear product, EVER. Support is awful and the product gets 2 stars
for lack of reliability.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to love this router, but I am sorry I sold my Apple!
This worked great for a time, but lately, streaming has been slow; found it was not my ISP....still getting 33Mbps at modem,
but only 20-22 max through the router, either with ethernet or wireless, and I was getting right around 30Mbps.
If anyone at Netgear is listening, you lost a customer with this poor quality and sub-par support.

ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router, DD-WRT Open Source support, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Excellent wireless and ethernet performance; strong signal.
Can handle multiple devices easily. Nice looking.

Cons: USB interface is now non-functional, after only 2 months.
Slow transfer speeds between workstations, runs hot.
Sub-par tech support.
Far too many incidents of defective products, seen first-hand.
They need to address their decline in quality, I need products which I can rely on.

Other Thoughts: Asus is surely not living up to their slogan of 'Persistent perfection." I did not mind paying more for what I thought was a high quality, dependable unit. However, when the USB interface totally fails after 2 months, how is that "perfection?"
Asus is building a name for very poor reliability. They responded to my email after several days, claiming problems with their email client, but I still find no response here.
So, I must now purchase a temporary replacement, so I can RMA this unit. I can only say that the replacement had better be 'Perfection!' I will not purchase another Asus product after this; they destroyed any 'customer loyalty' here, I have better things to do with my time.
