EVGA TEGRA NOTE 7 Tablet - 16GB Flash, 1GB RAM Quad Core NVIDIA Tegra 4

3 out of 5 eggs Nice, but Charging Port Concerns 11/04/2014

This review is from: EVGA TEGRA NOTE 7 Tablet - 16GB Flash, 1GB RAM Quad Core NVIDIA Tegra 4

Pros: Powerful little tablet. Blows my two year old Acer out of the water, performance-wise. I find the display perfectly fine, though some people seem to find it lacking. Greatly appreciate that it has minimal added programs/bloatware and that EVGA has fought the urge to twiddle with the Android OS in any substantial way.

Cons: The charging port is flimsy and the charging plug wiggles around in it. And the tablet is only two weeks old. It works fine for now, but if you look around at the reviews on this tablet you will see that people are experiencing charging problems as the charging port is flimsy and prone to breakage.

Other Thoughts: Love the tablet and will treat the charging port with utmost care in the hopes that it will not break on me.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727 White 4G LTE Dual-Core 1.5 GHz 16GB Unlocked GSM Cell Phone

Pros: Good While It Lasted

Cons: Phone charger port ceased to work. If it is out of warranty, even by a few weeks, Good Guys will not provide support. Should a phone die in a little over 3 months? Got a brief, blunt email from them that essentially said "not our problem if it is out of warranty." Did not even pretend to care.

Other Thoughts: You buy a phone from them and it dies, good luck!

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

4 out of 5 eggs Good price, slooow shipping 04/15/2014

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

Pros: Good price for upgrading from Windows XP to W 7. Still prefer Windows 7 to Windows 8. Having the whole touch screen Windows 8 approach dumped upon the masses just shows how indifferent Microsoft is to the consumer.

Cons: Having to buy W 7 because Microsoft no longer supports XP. Good way to "encourage" people to buy an upgraded operating system from Microsoft, right?

Slow, slow shipping. Believe it was via DHL. Stupidly convoluted route where the package was routed hundreds of miles out of the way before being directed to my address. I understand the need to cut shipping costs, but please, please find a more competent mailing service. What would have taken two or three days by any other means took close to a week.
