This review is from: StarTech.com 12U Adjustable 4 Post Server Equipment Open Frame Rack Cabinet
Pros: Great solid built cabinet. Comes with all the screws. cage nuts, Allen wrench and grommet cover for screw hole access.
Cons: Assembly instructions are terrible. pictures are hard to decipher what they are referencing. It could be just my copy only, but looks like they were ran off on a copier...the instructions were degraded as the copies went on.
No instructions how to assemble the rack floor shelves. They show how to assemble the caster wheels...funny since they unit comes with no caster wheels.
Pros: Nice large case, sturdy. Plenty of room to work inside. great price for a server case. Comes with plenty of fans, two in the rear, two in the front, three that reside inside the case behind the drive bays. Runs rather quiet.
Cons: What I don't like is the hard drive carriages. They are cheap plastic and provide 4 cheap white pin plugs that hold in the drive. I had to use traditional screws. I had a difficult time lining up the pins to the drive. Then they would pop out and the white grommet would just deteriorate.
The Instructions are basic, small print and rather useless. But the case is simple enough, you can figure things out.
The front door on the case.....would be nice if you didn't have to lock it all the time. If its not locked, it just slams open..be careful!
Other Thoughts: I think if Rosewell can re-think the cons, you would have a great server case. They may be more annoying to me only, but in general, I can purchase ATX case for the same cost that have better functionality.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Good price for a 3TB drive.... Performance was average. Had a few hang ups on the drive...due to hang ups I had to reformatted it. See Cons!
Cons: Had to reformatt the drive due to hangs. I noticed after the formatting of the drive that I cannot obtain the full hard drive capacity back. I can either get 2TB and loose the remaining 1TB OR I can only get 750GB made available and lose the 2TB all together. Checking into the warranty. I lost ALL my music orchestrations and composition data from my music server workstation due to this drive. Thankfully I backed up to my NAS! But to reinstall my software again takes about a full week due to its complexity. NOT COOL!
Other Thoughts: Usually Seagates are good. will update again once I see how their customer service responds. Cannot afford such data loss.READ FULL REVIEW
